How to Update Your Status
Posting a status update is a simple way to share what you're working on, how you're feeling, or just engage with the Code Forum community. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Go to Your Profile
- Make sure you're logged into your Code Forum account.
- Click your username or avatar in the top-right corner of the page.
- From the dropdown menu, select Profile.
Step 2: Locate the Status Update Box
Once on your profile page, you’ll see the Status Update field at the top — just above your recent activity feed.
Step 3: Write Your Status
- Click inside the box to begin writing your status message.
- You can include plain text, links, or even tag other members by typing
@username.
Step 4: Add Optional Details
- You can include emojis to make your status more expressive.
- Keep it short and relevant — this is your quick community-facing update.
Step 5: Post Your Status
When you're ready, click the Post button (below the status box) to publish your update.
Your status will now appear:
- At the top of your profile
- In the sidebar of the main forum index (visible to others)
Step 6: Engage with Your Status
Other members can:
- React to your status with emojis
- Reply to it and start a conversation
This is a great way to stay connected and build community engagement.
Step 7: Edit or Delete Your Status
If you want to change or remove your current status:
- Visit your profile or locate the status in your feed.
- Look for the Edit or Delete option next to the status message.
- Click the relevant option and confirm your change.
Tip: Adding a short reason for deletion helps moderators understand if you report issues or request support.
